But there are s...Right, it is and that is my point. But there are some scam artists and some foreigners who think they can get it for free and they are. Some one is helping foreigners in SMA to fill out applications, telling them to lie so they can get the insurance for free, they are paying these people to help them. Worse is that foreigners want to get this insurance for free when it is so inexpensive. Amazing what lengths some people will go to.<br /><br />The insurance was initially meant for those who live in rural areas without formal incomes and the services of IMSS. Since then, the program has expanded. I just don't like the idea of people thinking it is free. We all pay, directly or indirectly. And it shouldn't be free. Without paying something, even a token payment, it is sending the wrong message to the population, that the government is helping them with another handout. Handouts don't exist.<br /><br />And you're right, at 440 dollars a year you would think these people would be happy to pay it. Amazing how some people think. I'm paying 85 dollars a month and I think that is a steal for full coverage.
