Polling Time - Mazatlan Rv Parks

It looks like we will head to Mazatlán again this Christmas.  It's an easy drive and we can boondock along the way.   A short trip of two weeks but enough to relax and visit with friends.

One week we mostly likely will boondock on the Isla.  That said, we also want to spend a week in town at an rv park so we can hang out visit a museum, aquarium, markets and do more relaxing.

The poll is in the upper right hand corner and asks about your personal experience at one of the parks listed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. I would suggest San Fernando if you can get in. Mar Rosa is very expensive, but on the beach, and always has openings. Both are in the gold zone, so you can walk anywhere you want, and have easy access to the buses

  2. I think you should come to Valle de Bravo for Christmas.

  3. Las Jaibas. Our friends Kathy and Eric from Terrace, BC will be there and you will like them. My niece Robin and George have a condo just down the street and are a lot of fun. We can help arrange your social calendar..

  4. Punta Cerrittos and Las Jaibas are far from museums, centro, etc. Much quicker to get to things from the Isla on the panga ( as in 30 minutes closer ) I am familiar with 6 of those parks. San Fernando would be my choice if I had to stay in Mazatlan. We have stayed at Mar Rosa and never again. The experience was so bad that we left Maztalan for over 5 years before we returned and discovered Tres Amigos on the Isla. Don't forget that 1/3 of 'the road' has been paved and they are working on the next third as I type.

However, happy to meet you wherever you decide. Are we doing New Years Eve again this year?

I have heard from several people that Las Jaibas is very very much of a click park. I do know Kathy and Eric also.

  5. My friend Dale stayed at Mar Rosa and I liked the location a lot. It's definitely a small rig park; your trailer would be the perfect size. It is so convenient in that there is a lot to walk to, plus there's a bus stop right in front that goes through the GZ and all the way down to Centro and the mercado. The high walls mean it's pretty quiet even if it is on the main drag.

I didn't vote since I only know of this one and Tres Amigos and they are worlds apart.

  6. We have been at Las Jaibas since before in expanded in 2008 and it works very well for us. Bus at the front door to go downtown , a fabulous beach and great people from Canada and the USA

  7. We happen to like Cerritos....even if it is far from Centro. Restaurants and beach very close. Have stayed at Jaibas once...would return only if Cerritos was full. Tres Amigos is on our list for the future....nice beach but the road in....!!!! Would have to stay for a while to make the drive worthwhile
