Winter is close approaching and I am sure many people are considering their trek SOB. I wonder where everyone is going and what is their criteria for choosing their locations. A lot of people head to the West coast; Baja Norte and Sur, Sinaloa and Sonora. I know those areas only from work, flying in and staying a day or two and heading back out. It will be great in the future to be able to travel there and take advantage of the autopista that is under construction from Durango to Mazatlan. Until then, I continue to travel the Central and East coast of Mexico.

It would be interesting if you would post your Winter destination in the comments section to give people an idea of where Mexico rvers are headed.
We will be heading to the Southern areas this year in our 31' Class C towing the trusty '89 Honda Accord. We made it down as far as San Miguel and Veracruz last winter and found that the further South we got the nicer the people were.
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking about going into Guatemala and Belize as well but without the motorhome. One of these days we will get the chance to meet you Chris. You sound like our kind of people! Keep up the good work on the Blog.
We are going to enter just West of El Paso, travel down the interior to Torreon, head East to Cd. Valles, on to the Emerald Coast on the Gulf of Mexico, South to Catemaco, turn inland to Puebla, on to Taxco, down to Acapulco on the West Coast, back up to Patzcuaro, north to Guadalajara, on to Leon, San Miguel De Allende, North to Zacatecas and on home back in USA. There is a TON of sidetrips and visits to Pueblos Magico. Going to have a ball and we are looking for our future winter home. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention, we will be traveling in a 37' Toyhauler 5th wheel with a Diesel Ram. Really too big for Mexico but not willing too give up the holding tanks, generator and storage.
